Founded in 1970 by Richard Jordan SR.

As an Electrical Engineer, Mr. Jordan derived sales from solving applications. His philosophy revolved around knowledge. People do business with knowledgeable people — not just people. Our original focus was Heating and Heat Control applications with Fenwal, Indeeco, Aitken, Fastheat, & Payne — the very first lines we had.

We soon found a need for temperature control panels as part of the total solution to heat‑application problem solving.

In 1978 Thermal Equipment was incorporated and added a new direction in Level, Flow, and Density controls. We have grown into a full‑line controls house with controls for almost every industrial electrical application — including Level, Flow, Density, Pressure, Proximity, Current, and Power, as well as a full line of industrial electric heating products.

Today Thermal Equipment is run by Richard Jordan Jr., who started with the company at 16 as a panel builder. Richard still maintains that knowledge is the backbone of the company and works diligently to keep himself and the staff at Thermal Equipment on the cutting edge of technology today.
